Gave up smoking 3 weeks ago now the inside of my nostrils are sore scant and dry. Is this due to quitting and what can I do and how long will it last?

Moisturizer: There are a variety of moisturizing agents you can use, including lubriderm, around the area of your upper lip and nostril. Increased humidification is important, particularly in winter when we are indoors with heating systems and very low humidity. If these do not help, would consult a dermatologist. Am not sure this is related to quitting, though. Congrats on a great decision - stay quit! ...Read more

This : This is a common problem i see with patients who use a c-pap. The proper treatment depends a bit on the exact location and clinical observation so i would recommend you consult a dermatologist. Sometimes i recommend Hydrocortisone cream with a thin layer of zinc oxide paste over that to help reduce inflammation and irritation. Other cases, just a little bit of vaseline. I hope that helps. ...Read more

Why is my nostril sore inside all the time?

Vestibulitis: We generally refer to this as vestibulitis. Most common cause is trauma to the tissues (picking your nose, wiping your nose with an abrasive paper towel, etc). If you get this, gently apply an antibacterial ointment (like bacitracin) to your nostrils several times a day and avoid trauma! if it does not get better in a few days, see your doctor to rule out other possible, serious problems! ...Read more
