I take hydralozine, clonidine, amlodipine, coreg (carvedilol) and losartan for HBP and thyroxine. could any of these medications cause erectile dysfunction?
BP meds can do this: Impotence are listed potential side effects of hydralazine, amlodipine and losartan. Potentially, any of the antihypertensive medicines can do this. It is uncommon to require 5 different medicines to control hypertension. Ask your doctor to reassess your treatment ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

Read the label: B"sd as far as meds thiazide diuretics decrease urine and increase blood calcium. exforge hct (amlodipine and hydrochlorothiazide and valsartan) (amlodipine valsartan hydrochlorothiazide tablets) - has thiazide, plain exforge (amlodipine valsartan tablets) does not cause it to my knowledge. In any case, HCT causes mild hypercalcemia - should not bring on confusion etc unless other issues with low sodium etc. glad to discuss details and diabetes ...Read more
Safe but monitor...: Hawthorn has many proven benefits for the heart- see http://umm.edu/health/medical/altmed/herb/hawthorn It may lower blood pressure (BP) a bit so one should be careful your BP does not go too low, but my experience in using Hawthorn in dozens of patients is its effects in lowering BP are rather mild and doctors commonly prescribe more than one antihypertensive agent.See http://tinyurl.com/m3w6db3 ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

No,why would you?: Cozaar (losartan) is an arb class of blood pressure lowering medication, appropriate for those w/high blood pressure or hypertension. Midodrine is an Alpha receptor agonist used to treat patients w/orthostatic hypotension, whose blood pressure falls when they change positions. I can't imagine too many patients w/htn who are orthostatic w/treatment where you'd add another med rather than give fluids, etc. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Supposing someone has high blood pressure, can they take cozaar (losartan) and midodrine together?
Perhaps: Tarka (trandolapril and verapamil) contains trandolapril (an ace inhibitor) plus verapamil (a calcium channel blocker). Benicar is an arb (angiotensin blocker). The combination of an ace & arb is associated with increased side effects such as high potassium levels and decreased kidney function and low blood pressure. Not a good combination. ...Read more

Kidney side effects: V has a renal protective effect on patients who have proteinuria (p) as it reduces it. A increases blood flow (ibf) to the kidney and can cause, because of this ibc, more proteinuria. V cannot be given in patients with a renal artery stenosis, as it causes an elevation of creatinine which is reversible once v is stopped. V and a work well together in most patients with no loss of kidney function. ...Read more
