Doctor is weaning me off of Metoprolol with the aid of coversyl. I will then take another BP med. Is this common & will it work? Any side effects?
Depends: Depends on the dose of metoprolol you were taking, the formulation (i.e. short vs. long acting), and the duration you were on the metoprolol. The two parameters to monitor include the blood pressure and heart rate. Weaning too fast, may result in a faster heart rate, or even palpitations. Since my Dr prescribed 4 MG Coversyl 5 weeks ago, I have constant numbness & tingling on right side only. Is this a normal side effect?
Unsure...: The only way to surely blame Coversyl (ACE inhibitor+diuretics) as the culprit for constant/ tingling on the right side of body is stop it and see. Is I.V. sedation (Midazolam+Fentanyl) for dental procedure, safe for hypertensive/tachycardic person who is on Coversyl? Is there no side effect?
Interaction Check: We don't have Coversyl here in the U.S, but it's in the drug class called ACE inhibitors, of which we have many. ACE inhibitors should not interact with fentanyl+midazolam that you will be receiving for your procedure.
