The: The reason drugs have expiration dates relate to the stability of the medication over time and the possible loss of potency among other things. 3 years is too long, and while it may not harm you, you would be better off getting a new prescription to treat your infection optimally. I've had an ear infection for 4 days. My oral temperature is 99.1. Is that okay? I'm hot and sweaty. I'm taking ear drops, amoxicillan, and dexamethason.
The body has a day/night cycle so a mild elevated temperature at night midway thru infection is ok. Dexamethasone is a steroid used by some to reduce inflammation. Don't list age or other medical conditions but I advise caution in using this medication due to potential side effects and cross reaction to other medications. Give it a few more days but if not better contact your MD.
