Pretty good, but...: They are essentially equivalent in thinning the blood to replace coumadin (warfarin), (warfarin) but they require twice daily dosing. Yes, you don't have to get your blood tested like you do with coumadin (warfarin), (warfarin) but if you have a bad bleed, there is no antidote for either you mentioned, like there is for coumadin (warfarin). Depends: Studies have been done comparing the two. Aggrenox seems superior in preventing recurrent stroke or tia's, but Plavix (clopidogrel) has more research on heart disease and periph vasc problems. Plavix (clopidogrel) is generic now and cheaper, but doesn't work well in pts with certain genetics, and interacts adversely with some ulcer drugs.
