Most: Most home pregnancy tests are accurate about week after your missed period. You may have taken the test a little early. You can give it a few more days and take the test again, or you can call your doctor. Your doctor can give you a pregnancy test that will have a little earlier accuracy.

I took Plan B, & 5 days later I'm pretty sure I had "breakthrough bleeding". It lasted one day, & I had bad cramps. Should I get a pregnancy test?

Of course, but later: Plan B can alter the menstrual bleeding for the cycle in which Plan B was taken, and sometimes the next cycle too. One should be sure to check a home pregnancy test about 3 weeks after sex, because Plan B works most of the time, but not all the time.

I am 10 weeks pregnant. Every day, from time to time I have light menstrual cramps which worriedme a lot. Are they normal in pregnancy and for how long?

Normal.: Mild cramps and aches are common in pregnancy as the uterus grows and stretches its supporting ligaments. Not to worry if there is no vaginal bleeding and your obstetrician's examination is normal at each prenatal care visit. You may only use regular tylenol (acetaminophen) for discomforts of pregnancy - not advil/aleve/motrin or other nsaids! take Folic Acid 1-5 mg daily and good luck!

Are moderate cramps normal for early pregnancy? I'm 4 weeks and I've been having stretching/pulling cramps. They get worse when I move around.

Could be normal: Stretching/pulling cramps are not uncommon in early pregnancy, and often relate to the stretching of the round ligaments--supporting structures for the uterus. But there are other possible causes as well. You should ask your doctor at your next appointment, and if you have bleeding or severe cramps, see your dr right away.

I was wondering is it normal to get cramps in the first tirmester of pregnancy?

I was wondering is it normal to get cramps in the first tirmester of pregnancy?

Yes: Your uterus is stretching as the baby grows, and cramping is a normal response to this. However, if you are having cramping that is worse than menstrual cramps, or if the cramping is accompanied by bleeding, you need to be evaluated right away.

Guide book needed: Most OB and family physicians will recommend to every expectant mother a book on pregnancy. These manuals are vital tools to have when you are expecting a baby so that you can one, be prepared for anything, and two, be reassured when something you are experiencing is normal and expected. Cramping early on is not normal and I would recommend you contact your ob.

Irregular Menses: It is common for young women to miss periods, or have them come late, especially with excessive stress, weight loss, or exercise. If you did not ovulate (release an egg in the middle of your menstrual cycle) your period can be very light or not come at all. It may be heavier the following month.

Hello.: Hello. You are right, if she has never been sexually active than she is not pregnant. Pain with urination, and only be able to urinate small amounts can sometimes be caused by a urinary tract infection. It might be helpful if she sees her doctor.

Period starting?: Sometimes when you miss a period, the next one will come about a month later at its "usual" time. So, maybe the cramping is happening because you're about to get your period. If you don't get it in a few days and the pain persists, see doctor.

Ovulation pain: Ovulation is when a follicle, the cyst containing the egg, ruptures. Occasionally the ruptured cyst will refill with blood. You should do a pregnancy test if your period does not begin within 2 weeks.
