Could I still take a B12 injection if it is expired by 6months?

Could I still take a B12 injection if it is expired by 6months?

Yes, safe, but...: The expiration date on meds is the time limit that the dosage potency is guaranteed. After that time, the potency may be less (but often is not). It is the rare drug (some types of tetracycline) that become toxic if outdated. Nevertheless, a pharmacy can not dispense, and a physician is not supposed to administer a medicine beyond its expiration date. ...Read more

I'm wondering how much time it will it take for vit B12 injection to show its results?

Be sure you understand why and whether it's long-term. ...Read more

Can I still use b12 injections that were left in the heat?

Please do what your: doc says. If you use sublingual B 12 I don't see any necessity for shots for the average person. If you swallow B 12 you will still need shots because oral B 12 is not nearly as well metabolized as sublingual. Peace and good health. Extreme heat may destroy B 12. ...Read more

I'm b12 deficient I receive injections once a month but I am still echausted. Is there some law or guideline that says I can't have injections once a ?

Need more info: B12 injection once a months is likely to be sufficient to take care or normal needs. There may be an other reason for you exhaustion. Could you be depressed? It would be prudent to discuss that with your doctor as effective treatment is available for depression. Depression is due to chemical imbalance in the brain and is not a moral failing. Pernicious aenemia is it ok to take B12 5000mg methylcobalamin tablets in between B12 3mothly injections? Thanks

YES: B12 injections should be adequate but it is definitely ok to take tablets too- there is no known toxicity from too much b12. For best results your injections should also be methylcobalamin, next best hydroxycobalamin. Avoid cyanocobalamin- see http://www.Naturalnews.Com/032766_cyanocobalamin_vitamin_b-12.Html. ...Read more

I was diagnosed with low b12 (147) after suffering from neuropathy. Dr prescribed injections over 5 days. How long will it take to see improvement?

Vitamin B12...: Vitamin B12 is a water soluble vitamin, and excess of the vitamin is excreted in the urine. It requires other factors in the body for proper absorption. Significant measurable effects , provided no other factors limiting it's proper metabolism, are typically seen after one month of treatment.

How long does it take a vitamin B12 injection to take effect?

Take effect?: I'm not sure what you mean by 'take effect.' the only indication for vitamin B12 injection is for people with severe B12 deficiency or those who are unable to absorb B12 from their diet. That applies to very few people. If you're being given B12 injections for 'energy, ' you should be aware that's it's a commonly administered placebo. ...Read more

I am B12 deficient and I take injections.
I think I might be allergic to red meat as every time I eat it I get diahrrea. What could this mean?

Lots of things: Your physician might do well to test you for maldigestion / malabsorption / steatorrhea, especially if are also intolerant to other fatty foods. This might explain both your B12 deficiency and your diarrhea after eating red meat. I'm glad you're a good observer of your body, and wish you success with this inquiry. ...Read more

I have pernicious aneamia and recieving B12 injections hydroxycobalamin every 3 months but still getting palpatations on a regular basis?

Tinnitus(highly) & dizziness(highly) after vit B12 im injection(first time), i felt some better after 5 minutes, now 30 minuts still dizziness.

B12 harmless: The B12 itself injected into the body should not cause tinnitus and/or dizziness or any other toxicity. I doubt there were any other substances in the bottle of B12 that you reacted to either. Check with your pcp first and if symptoms persist see an ENT specialist(otolaryngologist) or a neurologist for diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more

Simple blood test: Any lab can administer this test. Injections are the least preferred method to get sufficient vitamin b12. Get it from food such as wild salmon, sea kelp, and other sea vegetables. Don't let someone stick you with a needle if you can avoid it. Just a way to make money for some doctors and other health care providers. ...Read more

Once you have a B12 deficiency and take monthly injections, will that be the case for the rest of your life or will you be able to stop injections?

B12 deficiency: Unfortunately, you will need to take B12 lifelong. To stop would put you at risk for anemia and severe neurologic problems like neuropathy, difficulty with balance and walking, "megaloblastic madness", and death. Sometimes, patients can take high doses of vitamin B12 1-2 mg orally once daily instead of the shots. Ask your doctor if this is possible for you. ...Read more

I've been trying to concieve for quite a while with no luck i get B12 injections every 2 months would it be ok for me to take baby asprin?

Probably not: Aspirin is rated "d" as a medication during pregnancy, meaning that it presents a known risk to the baby. And in general, the early part of pregnancy is very important to protect because of all the major organ development in the baby during that time. There may be some situations where taking Aspirin would be worth the risk, but i would definitely explore that with your healthcare provider first. ...Read more
