What do you mean: Do you mean, can the rod break and still function? I've never heard of a rod breaking in the skin. If that were to happen, I would return to the doctor or clinic that put the Nexplanon in and they would likely replace it and send a defective device back to the manufacturer. Periods returned 19mths after had baby. Lasted 7 days (no brown), stopped for 4 days & then heavy for a few hrs. Normal if on implanon since Mar 2013.
