Could I Have Colon Cancer 2 Years After Clear Colonoscopy
Thin stools on occasion. Father had colon cancer. I am scheduled for a colonoscopy Monday. Are thin stools always colon cancer related? TERRIFIED.
Cancer is a group of diseases that is characterized by uncontrolled cell growth leading to invasion of surrounding tissues that spread to other parts of the body. Cancer can begin anywhere in the body and is usually related to one or more genetic mutations that allow normal cells to become malignant by interfering with internal cellular control mechanisms, such as programmed cell death or by preventing ...Read more

Colon cancer i had a colonoscopy 31/2 yrs. Ago but am having trouble lately could polyps grow that quickly i won't have another colonoscopy for 6 mo?
Very unlikely: Adenomatous polyps (the ones that can turn into cancer) become more common the older you are. The more the number of polyps seen and removed, the higher the growth rate and likely the chance of finding new ones. Having polyps or cancer at a young age though should trigger shorter intervals to surveillance colonoscopies. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Very unlikely: Colitis can cause pain. I don't know why you are thinking about kidney caner. Did you have it? If you are not being followed by someone for the colitis, you should find a good GI doc and establish a relationship. He or she could answer your questions a bit better i think. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Had colonoscopy at age 50, they removed non cancerous polyp. I am 51 now, how often should I have a colonoscopy or other related screenings?
Had a sessile serrated polyp in acending colon 2 years ago removed at 27 years old, if I fixed my chronic constipation could I decrease CA chance?
Having rectangle stool. Had clean colonoscopy 20 months ago with good prep. What are the chances colon cancer would be causing this?
Low Chance ; BUT: At 40, a colonoscopy which shows no cancer less than 2 years ago is reassuring. Regardless, ASK your doctors advice about these new symptoms. Anorectal diseases such as hemorrhoids and fissures can cause changes to bowel caliber, but a thorough evaluation of the area needs to be done. While colon cancers are uncommon to grow in such a short span, it is not impossible. In short, see your doctor!! ...Read more
I've had IBS symptoms for 4 years now ? I just recently found out that colon cancer has the same symptoms. Could I possibly have colon cancer ?
I have had ulcerative colitis for 13 yrs getting routine colonoscopies every 2 years. Last one showed cancer tumor. Full or partial colon removal ?
Probably : Best is total colon removal because leaving diseased colon in place would keep you at risk for more colon cancers in the future, and you would need frequent colonoscopy. Can get off colitis medications with surgery. Best to see a colon rectal surgery specialist, maybe at a university, who has extensive experience in ileo-anal pouch surgery. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Had colonoscopy due to ibs 6 years ago not a thing found mom had a few benign polyps so told I should have not wait 10 yrs how likely I have cancer?
Unknown. : It's currently unknown, technically speaking, if you have cancer or not as we haven't looked in there for six years. Now, six years could be long enough for polyps to have developed but hopefully not enough time for them to turn malignant. Regardless, a colonoscopy at this time would be prudent. ...Read more
If I have had (in past 6 months) a colonoscopy, endoscopy w biopsies, abdominal CT and blood tests,clear- but have stomach issues, overlooked cancer?
I am stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. 1 yr ago it spread to ovaries and i had hysterectomy. Do i stil need to have yearly papsmears.
Technically no: I am terribly sorry about your situation. Given that your original diagnosis of breast cancer had nothing to do with hpv or related changes to the cervix, and assuming that you always had normal prior pap smears, then you do not need to have annual pap smears. Obviously, you need pelvic exams at whatever interval your doctor recommended, though. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Mother had precancerous colon polyp at 40, father had noncancerous polyp at 40... when should I have first colonoscopy?
It depends on....: You may be at a higher risk for polyps than the average person where colonoscopy is advised at 50 years of age. For high risk it is advised at 40 years. But if you have any symptoms of blood loss or abdominal symptoms anytime, you should get your colon checked before you turn 40. If you want to be free of any anxiety, then do it sooner(now or during this year provided you can handle the expenses. ...Read more
