Could I die if water was injected into my bloodstream?

Yes: Doctors use sterile water injections into the bloodstream on a regular basis, and this is perfectly safe. However, nonsterile water (tap water) injected into the bloodstream may be contaminated with chemicals and bacteria that could lead to infection and death. Bottom line: let your health care professional do all injections into your bloodstream! ...Read more

I was wondering if HIV could ever seep through the palms and get into the bloodstream. The palms have pores so i was wondering if it could get passed.

HIV: That does not happen. Hiv is not an easy disease to transmit. It takes blood to blood or tissue to tissue directly in order to get into the body. This happens sexually, by transfusion (now rare), needle sharing during illicit drug use, tissue transplantation (again very rare) and other such direct manners. What you are describing does not happen. ...Read more

A lady at the gym poured some of her water into my water bottle it was already water that had been drinkin from her can I get HIV or herpes 2?

Not from the water: I'm glad you're going to the gym and I'm glad you're health-conscious. I'm also sorry that somebody at the gym did something so inappropriate. If I'm understanding correctly, you ought to mention it to the manager. Truth be told, being aware is good, but HIV and herpes don't travel between people this way. Enjoy fitness and don't let unrealistic fears of virus stop you. ...Read more

I was prescribed intramuscular vitamins and given insulin syringes and told to inject into the glutes. I don't think the needle reaches the muscle. Will it still work if it goes into fat?

Yes,but ask 4 longer: Yes, it should still work, but it would be better to inject into muscle. I usually use one and a half inch long (but thin like 27 guage) needles to inject into muscle. You can also inject into the back of your upper arm where there is less fat between the muscle and skin so that your current needles will reach muscle. Ask your doc for longer needles! ...Read more

My hubby sat on an injection needle in the park(he bled from it), is it possible that he can get aids if it didn't inject into him it just poked him?

HIV: It is conceivable that HIV can be transmitted in this fashion. Your husband should seek medical help immediately and perhaps be prophylaxed with antiretrovirals. In two weeks he can begin to be tested to be sure whether or not he has developed antibodies against hiv, or can have pcr testing to see if viral RNA is present. Have only protected sex until you are sure. Good luck. ...Read more
