Not likely: It is not terribly likely, but if there is any concern on your part I would be seen in the emergency room where a simple test can tell if you have a blood clot. Blood clots in the leg usually cause diffuse swelling in the calf and leg below the clot; not usually swelling limited to the ankle. ...Read more

Ankle pain in right ankle started Friday.. No bruising or swelling. Pain was already subsiding by Sunday. Somebody said it could be a blood clot.
Small chance...: As you describe your symptoms, it sounds more like a strain or minor sprain in the ankle. The suspicion of a clot seems very low, but cannot be ruled out 100% without a closer evaluation.
