Right ankle has been hurting since yesterday. Slightly swelling. I haven't done anything to cause this. How can I tell if it is a Blood clot?

Not likely: It is not terribly likely, but if there is any concern on your part I would be seen in the emergency room where a simple test can tell if you have a blood clot. Blood clots in the leg usually cause diffuse swelling in the calf and leg below the clot; not usually swelling limited to the ankle. ...Read more

Small chance...: As you describe your symptoms, it sounds more like a strain or minor sprain in the ankle. The suspicion of a clot seems very low, but cannot be ruled out 100% without a closer evaluation.
