Uncertain cause: Alleve would be the best thing to take for inflammation since ibuprofen is out. Not sure what ligaments you are referring to. There are none associated with an implant, and any where tooth was extracted should have been removed during the preparation phase for the implant. Gum tissue soreness is normal and may last 7-10 days depending on the incision/sutures. Good Luck. ...Read more

Yes, but: There is a significant controversy whether metal, particularly nickel allergy ,is associated with reactions to metal implants. As you already have reactions around your implants, see a board-certified allergist/immunologist. Patch testing may be helpful and possibly some specialized blood tests for determination of allergy. If allergy to the implants is confirmed, they may have to be replaced. ...Read more
