Neoplasms (Definition)

"tumor" literally translates as "mass", so even a fresh bruise could be called a "tumor". Is it for sure a MRI will find it if I got tmj?christmas is coming and I need to know if it is and not tumor in parotid gland .lot of jaw clicking

CBCT vs. MRI imaging: allows a TMJ specialist to look inside your TMJ joints without performing surgery. The MRI views of soft tissues, doesn't give the specialist as detailed a picture as necessary of bone structure; and this is exactly what's needed to diagnose TMJ disease and plan the proper treatment. Hope it helps. ...Read more

Seek advice: You won't know, necessarily. Vertigo is a sensation of spinning or motion of the person or the environment, while dizziness is not a sense of motion but lightheadedness or feeling floaty or off kilter. There can be neurologic issues, inner ear problems , visual problems, psychologic issues, cardiovascular problems, and many other causes. See an ENT, neurologist, and possibly cardiolologist. ...Read more

It's like an internal clicking I hear when I walk inside the top of my head almost like someone is tapping a coin against my skull, what is it?

Tapping noise: skull: Your body is mostly liquid, and as you may know from swimming with your head under water, sounds in water are transmitted loudly. The noise you describe is probably from a joint in your shoulder or hip which may be "heard" while walking. It probably is not serious, but if it continues, see an orthopedic doctor or an internist to determine the cause. ...Read more

Is there a test I could do at home to test inner ear I have a weird lightheaded feeling swaying sometimes drs say anxiety, worried tumor inner ear ?

BAER: test can exclude the presence of a small acoustic neuroma if the test is normal. Medications used for allergies can cause lightheartedness. Dizziness is a complicated matter, I see about 10 patients a month in Kentucky who have difficult to diagnosis dizziness. I wish there was a simple home test. Unsteadiness with eyes closed that improves with eyes open is often due to low B12 ( ...Read more

I've been on zithromax since 1/21 for inner ear and sinus infection, but still have the dizziness, when will it go away or could it be a brain tumor?

Ear infection: Inner ear infections can affect balance. This is a complex system and usually will recover slower than the actual infection, sometimes as long as 3-4 weeks. If symptoms persist longer than this timeframe, reevaluation is indicated by your treating physician. Brain tumors of the inner ear can cause dizziness as a presenting symptom, but most of these tumors present with hearing loss. ...Read more

If I had a tumor in my inner ear, what would the symptoms be? Would a ear infec. With roaring& some dizziness be it? Would it be constant?

Hearing & Balance: Tumors of the inner ear are not common. The most common tumor of the ear would be an acoustic neuroma which is benign and not cancer. Most present with hearing loss - usually gradual but can be sudden. Tinnitus (abnormal sound in the ear) is possible as well. Dizziness is a very uncommon presenting symptom because these tumors usually grow very slowly the body compensates for the loss of balance. ...Read more

I have possible menieres disease, because of constant ear infections. But there is a chance for a tumor. What are the symptoms for inner ear tumor?

Unclear : 3 distinct issues. Ear infections, menieres syndrome and inner ear tumor. None of these issues has anything to do with the other. Not sure otologic: 5 years of light headedness does not sound like an inner ear problem. The classical symptom of inner ear disease or vestibular central disease is vertigo, (spinning). If there is no hearing loss, I doubt that you have inner ear disease. Light headedness may be low blood pressure, thyroids dysfunction, low blood sugar or other metabolic diseases. Are face tumors deadly?my boyfriends face is swelling for the past 2 days&hes at the hospital connected to tubes of all kinds&a breathing machine.

Not face tumor: malignant tumors of the face, that is of skin, when spreading, do involve lymph nodes of neck or go to lung but do not cause facial swelling. This is from output failure from veins and lymphatics draining face and most likely due to a superior vena cava syndrome due to blockage of main vein in chest. This requires his need for respirator secondary to blockage of airway from facial swelling. ...Read more
