Could a tilted uterus make it harder to conceive?

Could a tilted uterus make it harder to conceive?

Depends: The uterus can lean forward (anteverted) or backward (retroverted). Asian women tend to have rv while us women tend to have av uterus. In rv uterus, the uterus points to the ground during sleep, thus allowing menstrual blood to accumulate inside the uterus to eventually spill into the pelvis via the the tubes leading to endometriosis. However, not all women with a rv uterus have endometriosis. ...Read more

My husband and i ate having problems conceiving. Is there over-the-counter pills for him? Or specific positions since I have a back tilted uterus?

Fertility: The treatment of your difficulty conceiving depends upon the reason behind it. In general you only have a 20% per month ability to conceive. You must ovulate, your tubes must be open and his sperm count must be normal. If you have tried for 6 months without success then it is time to look into these things and perhaps others as to what the problem may be. Make an appt with obgyn doctor. ...Read more

Highly doubt it: All positions are equally effective for conception, so the one you (and your partner ) like is the "best." deviated - verted, flexed, or rotated uterus is not abnormal. You (and many) other women were born this way, ask if your doc can help you more. ...Read more

What is the best position for a tilted uterus in order to concieve? And if your period comes on 22 day for a new cycle, would that be a 21 day cycle?

Not applicable: As long as your reproductive system is healthy, the position of the non-pregnant uterus does NOT affect the ability to get pregnant. In fact most women's uterus are tilted one way or another. Some are even bent (flexed). I don't know how you're counting the length of your cycle, but one day +/- makes no difference. As a mother of 4 with a retroflexed uterus, I wish you the best! ...Read more

Evaluate uterus: Seek evaluation with gyn or infertility specialist. If there is concern regarding endometrial thickness, evaluation may include assessment of endometrial cavity with sonohysterogram or hysteroscopy (rule out intrauterine adhesions or submucosal fibroids).
