Probably not: Rotavirus commonly affects young children rather than adults & causes watery diarrhea that usually goes away on its own in a few days. You may be able to get rotavirus if you are taking meds for crohns (they suppress your immune system & make it harder to fight off infections). High AST /ALT/ALP. Hgb is 10 and I only have a yeast infection. No other symptoms. Had crypto 20 days ago. Could be a sign of re-infection? Ideas?

Cryptococcus: A cryptococcal infection means your immune system must be very weak. That's a different fungus than a yeast infection which is Candida. If your liver enzymes are off that would be a good place to look for your immunodeficiency. I think you need an Infectious Diseases doctor to properly manage your case. I wouldn't take any chances with ur health. The weakness in your immune system needs treatment. ...Read more

I have severe prostatitis and anal itching, a urethral swab has revealed thrush (candida). Could this be the cause of my symptoms?

No: If you culture there you will grow a variety of organisms, including yeast. Assuming you are taking antibiotic for prostatitis. you will have increased candida. You may need treatment for this. Candida does not cause severe prostatitis. It may be responsible for some itch. Anal itch is usually due to fecal soiling. Avoid scrubbing. After a BM, first clean with paper, then clean with lotion INSIDE ...Read more

Is an infection in my nose related to a previous diagnosis of and treatment for acute cystitis? Could both be caused by yeast overgrowth?

Is an infection in my nose related to a previous diagnosis of and treatment for acute cystitis? Could both be caused by yeast overgrowth?

Very unlikely: I have never seen a yeast infection in the nose but have seen sinusitis caused by a different sort of fungus, aspergillus. There is a slight risk of lymphatic spread of infection from your nose into your brain. ...Read more
