Parenchymal density: is a very nonspecific term, unfortunately. It could mean anything from scar to mass to pneumonia to collapse of a small lung segment. Without the images to review, it is difficult to determine. Likewise, there are both acute and chronic causes of cystic changes. Hi,  I have been coughing up phlegm for a few months now. It is clear with little brown spots.

Phlegm from cough: Mostly clear phlegm is fairly normal. You probably have allergies. I would try a nasal steroid like Flonase and use it twice a day. It takes about 3 to 5 days to work. Be patient. You can try a decongestant like sudafed to dry you up until the Flonase kicks in. Good luck! Feel better! ...Read more
