Parenchymal density: is a very nonspecific term, unfortunately. It could mean anything from scar to mass to pneumonia to collapse of a small lung segment. Without the images to review, it is difficult to determine. Likewise, there are both acute and chronic causes of cystic changes. NO, follow advise: You already had an episode of pneumonia , your doctor gave best advise , don't want you to get it back wants to prevent it by giving antibiotics , now it is up to you , if you are not happy take a second opinion. ...Read more
