Coughing Up Clear Mucus With Brown Spots
In the morning I've been coughing up dark brownish mucus. Its mostly clear with dark brown spots sometimes its more than just spots its more like a brown gray blob.

Bronchitis?: Brown phlegm can be from dead tissue the body is eliminating as it fights infection (viral or bacterial) or can be old blood from inflamed airways or nasal bleeding that has drained down the back of throat. Pulmonary: Do you have a fever? Do you have a history of asthma. If not it sounds like allergies. Do you work around a lot of dust or mold? Phlegm from cough: Mostly clear phlegm is fairly normal. You probably have allergies. I would try a nasal steroid like Flonase and use it twice a day. It takes about 3 to 5 days to work. Be patient. Calculus?: If the spots are behind your front teeth then it is likely calculus formations. See your Dentist for evaluation and your hygienist for professional cleaning.
