Smoker I've been coughing up phlegm tinged with blood at times I had a CT scan it states that their is cystic changes and a parenchymal density lung

Parenchymal density: is a very nonspecific term, unfortunately. It could mean anything from scar to mass to pneumonia to collapse of a small lung segment. Without the images to review, it is difficult to determine. Likewise, there are both acute and chronic causes of cystic changes. The nonspecific report verbiage needs to be interpreted in conjunction with the images themselves and your clinical picture. ...Read more

Had paid and dry cough in rt lung for 2.5 months. Had xrays & bloods done. All ok. Lft to be done in october. Could I have lung cancer. Very worried ?

Not likely: If you have a normal chest x-ray, then you are not likely to have lung cancer, at least not an obvious tumor which could explain your persistent cough. Yet if you cough persists, you need an ongoing medical evaluation and treatment to control it. Sometimes it can be a symptom of asthma or acid reflux. So go see your doctor again till the cause has been found and treated. ...Read more

Further evaluation: If you are a smoker further evaluation with a ct scan of the chest may be indicated; you should also consider asking your physician for referral to a pulmonary specialist for evaluation of the persistent cough. Scared I've got lung cancer cough and cold for a while today coughed and there was a tiny speech of blood, after blew my nose and there was blood ther?

Suggestions: Inflammation in the airway ( either upper or lower ) may be associated with small amounts of bleeding. If your nose is bleeding this can appear in the post nasal drainage. If you are a smoker in particular, I would suggest sputum cytologies. During a viral illness, your asthma may worsen, requiring an adjustment of your medications. Hi Doctor, I have pain in my lower right lung since last 6 months. I am non smoker. Breathing is fine. No blood in cough. is this lung cancer ?

At 29, not likely: Firstly, you know that you are having pain in the lower right side of your chest. What you don't know is whether that pain is in your lungs. Pain from internal organs may be referred to other places - like gall bladder inflammation may be felt as pain the right shoulder. Am more concerned about your fears of cancer than any real risk. See your doctor for assessment and perhaps counseling. ...Read more

Very unlikely: From the information you provided the risk of lung cancer is minimal. You may try applying a small amount of an emollient in the nares. Do apply only small amount as you do not want the emollient to be inhaled. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more

Lung (Definition)

Deoxygenated blood enters the lungs from the right side of the heart and travels to the lungs. When you inspire, oxygen flows into the lungs, transverses the capilliares and attaches to hemoglobin down a gradient.
