Not normal: People do not usually cough up blood. However, it can be residual blood from a nose bleed. It can also be an irritated throat from the cough leading to broken blood vessels or mucosa breakdown. However, it could be a serious infection like tuberculosis. I would bet: That you have severe vitamin b1 deficiency. The low arterial oxygen is the clue. It can produce capillary bleeding and the mild to moderate hypoxia in brain can lead to an unnecessary cough reflex.
