My mom has a blood clot in her jugular vein& is coughing up blood & blood clots. The Dr is saying that a clot in that vein is not serious is that true?

Cough/clot: If you cough hard enough you might burst a small blood vessel , have a little bleeding, and then it stops. My cough is bad from asthma i switched inhalers i think that's why its bad again could astma lead to worse stuff like cancer or blood clots ?
Asthma: First you need to stop smoking! then you need to be compliant with your inhalers for them to be effective. See a pulmonologist or allergist to help you control it. I m abpa patient .Today i hv normal routine light cough then i see a blood clot with sputum.Then three times i cough and again see blood with sputum ?
Could be infection.: Abpa is usually treate dwith steroids. When on long period of time the steroids may lower resistence to immune system. I would inform your primary lung doc and ask for appointment. Not sure of your disease progression and work up so far. May need cxr or cat scan as well. Some pt require a bronchoscopy as well.
