It does not mean that you are dying of consumption (what they called tuberculosis in the past). Asthma: First you need to stop smoking! then you need to be compliant with your inhalers for them to be effective. See a pulmonologist or allergist to help you control it. Cancer is a result of smoking not asthma, and so are blood clots, the more reasosns to quit! ...Read more

Could be infection.: Abpa is usually treate dwith steroids. When on long period of time the steroids may lower resistence to immune system. I would inform your primary lung doc and ask for appointment. Not sure of your disease progression and work up so far. May need cxr or cat scan as well. Some pt require a bronchoscopy as well. A pulmonay embolism is always a possibility as well. Need follow up with your doc. ...Read more
