Nose gets partially blocked every night once i lay down even after using nasal spray and two pillows.and my cough starts as well.not able to sleep wel?

Coughs 24/7 even sleeping hours. Propped up with two pillows. Not sick/asthma. Heavy smoker. Coughing 6mos or more. Could this be COPD? Congested 24/7
