Most likely: You have a respiratory infection, although without further history and physical exam I can't rule out a lower respiratory infection (in your lungs) also. Do you have a history of asthma? Viral syndrome: This is likely a upper respiratory viral infection in evolution. Sore throat (pharyngitis) with fever, followed by cough and other flu like symptoms. Best treatment is rest, plenty of fluids, tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen for aches and fever. A decongestant and cough suppressant may be helpful when these symptoms arise. Mgt: There are several possible causes for your symptoms. The antibiotic that you took is a broad spectrum antibiotic which should cover most bacterial causes.
