Coughing is an important way to keep your throat and airways clear. However, excessive coughing may mean you have an underlying disease or disorder. Some coughs are dry, while others are considered productive. A productive cough is one that brings up mucus.

I have cough?

Cougher

Fruit_juice
Mix hot water, 1 tsp. lemon juice & 1 tsp. honey in a mug, then add more lemon juice or honey to taste, if desired. Sip the mixture slowly and inhale the steam from the hot liquid to help reduce congestion in the chest. Or make tea with 2 tsp of Marshmallow root bark per 1cup of hot water (steep in a covered pot for at least 5 minutes). Drink several times a day or as needed to relieve coughing.

coughing up water?

Coughing

Open-uri20120820-16650-111kjop
Coughing "water" sounds concerning and may be an indication of aspiration occurring during drinking liquids. This would require an evaluation by a speech/swallow therapist and potentially an ENT. Coughing in general indicated irritation in the airway at some level between the vocal cords and the lungs themselves. Producing enough fluid of any kind (mucus being common) should be evaluated.

Dr. Tony T. Ho answered:

I coughed up blood?

Did you?

Blood
I'm not sure what the question is. If you coughed up blood because you have a known pneumonia and have been having paroxysms of hacking coughs that have made your throat raw and bleeding, that would be explained. If you just randomly started coughing up blood, you need to go to the ER right away.

Sneezing and cough ?

Possible allergies

Cough
Sneezing is a common symptom of allergies. While cough can be a symptom from multiple causes, it also can be related to post nasal drip from allergies. Also, cough is a very common symptom of asthma; frequently asthma and allergies occur together especially in children. If either cough or sneezing interferes with sleep, daily activities, exercise or becomes persistent, it is wise to seek care.

best cough medicine?

No cough medicine

Reflux
The best medicine for cough is the medicine that treats the reason you are coughing. If your cough is due to asthma you need to treat asthma. If its due to reflux treat the reflux. If its due to pneumonia, bronchitis or sinusitis then treat the infection. I do not like treating symptoms unless I know the cause. If you have a persistent cough you need to see your doctor.
