Unlikely: Glaucoma usually cause visual damage over a period of months to years. It is unlikely that a therapeutic trial with Cosopt would lead to visual loss. Cosopt is frequently more effective than travatan but realize that is consists of 2 separate drugs combined in one bottle. ...Read more

side-effects: Allergy is an adverse effect to a medication that is caused by a reaction of the immune system. Switched from travatan to cosopt 1mo. Ago due to side effects. Cosopt lowered pressure 2-3 pts more & near vision improved. Could cosopt cause this?

Switched from travatan to cosopt 1mo. Ago due to side effects. Cosopt lowered pressure 2-3 pts more & near vision improved. Could cosopt cause this?

Yes: Two reasons i think: 1st- is that if you had problems with travatan and it was causing corneal irritation, then switching to Cosopt that doesn't cause this could improve vision. 2nd- unusually Cosopt may cause transient myopia (reversible when stopping) which would improve your near vision. Chronic treatment of glaucoma has been associated with faster cataract formation, usually increased myopia. ...Read more

Help absorption: 20 minutes is probably a conservative amount of time, but you want the drop to get into your eye so your eye pressure can go down, not absorb into your contact lens. ...Read more
