I was wondering what are good core strengthening exercises that do not include crunches or sit ups?

I was wondering what are good core strengthening exercises that do not include crunches or sit ups?

Kick-boxing: Kick-boxing is an incredible way to build core strength and flattening your abs. It is not an easy thing to do, but once you get used to it, you will agree. Start out with just a punching bag--"hook punches" and round-kicks are great trunk-strengthening exercises. Nevertheless, any exercise is better than none. So, start out small and increase as you progress. Good luck and have a healthy new year.

Probably not: Bringing your knees to your chest increases the pressure within the disc and should usually be avoided. If you have back pain from dysfunction of the facet joints, sacroiliac joints or muscles, then knee-to-chest is ok.

What kind of exercise is good for a herniated disc?

McKenzie: Talk to your therapist about mckenzie directional-preference based therapy. In most people excercises of lumbar extension help to centralize pain, but not the case in all people with disc herniations. Far lateral disc herniations tend to respond to lumbar flexion exercises better. Get formal evaluation to see what directional preference therapy best for you.

REST!!!! TIME: Hamstring injuries will respond to rest, massage and physical therapy. Time is your best ally. Plasma gel injection under ultra sound guidance is purported to shorten healing time. For herniated discs of there is no nerve impairment, the participation in pilates yoga is very good. As the hamstrings heal, the above exercise programs can be beneficial. Always use professional guidance.

Which vitamins, minerals or anything else help/facilitate rehabilitation herniated disc. Also be thankful for any links to physical exercises or smth.

Stay fit: No particular vitamins, just stay healthy. Don't do heavy lifting, instead stay active, strengthen your core and back muscles (good to work with physical therapist). If you smoke then quit. If heavy then lose weight. All the best!
