Contains Chemicals Cause Cancer
Cancer is a group of diseases that is characterized by uncontrolled cell growth leading to invasion of surrounding tissues that spread to other parts of the body. Cancer can begin anywhere in the body and is usually related to one or more genetic mutations that allow normal cells to become malignant by interfering with internal cellular control mechanisms, such as programmed cell death or by preventing ...Read more
Absolutely: Thousands of real scientists make careers out of separating the ones that do from the ones that don't. Almost all the "pop" scares are unfounded, but regrettably there have been some sad cases, especially in industry. The real ones cause a tremendous increase in one particular (usually exotic) type of cancer. ...Read more
Can artificial trees made of PVC cause health problems includ. cancer to adults? Can these trees cause cancer b/c PVC releases dioxins, arsenic,&lead?
Be discerning: If you were to believe everything that you read about the supposed dangers of common chemicals, you would be reading uncritically. There is a lot of money in fear-mongering and no laws against people simply making stuff up. The plastic itself is inert though some of the chemicals used to make it have presented hazards to workers. As far as "releasing dioxins, arsenic and lead", news to me. ...Read more

Not concerned: Neoprene is polymerized chloroprene. Chloroprene monomer has caused cancer in a few obscure animal experiments, just as most anything else can be made to do as a promoter. There is talk of genotoxicity, but in its polymerized form it couldn't reach the genes in any case. Folks working with chloroprene aren't showing up with extra cancers. Don't throw away your wetsuit. ...Read more
No: Please forgive my frankness. The SLS claim is made up. The parabens claims have little biologic plausibility for breast cancer (the main focus) and have resisted demonstration. If you're reading a site claiming there's a terrible conspiracy and cover-up, you should be able to recognize disinformation. We live in a sea of carcinogens, mostly unavoidable; pepper, orange juice, and so forth. ...Read more
No: I don't believe it. Government regulators tend to be zealots and each chemical added to food is checked for its ability to mutate dna. A few old food colors that did this are gone. Mother nature itself is full of cancer-causing chemicals in quantities well above what we'd accept from additives. Stop worrying, eat what you like (i prefer natural stuff) and keep up the customary watch for cancer. ...Read more

Tiny amounts: The internet hoax and "gold ring" tests have passed into being urban legends. One of the difficult jobs faced by the epa and the fda is establishing arbitrary "safe levels" for substances that pose minimal threats at low levels, and there was a minor flap about some lipsticks having slightly more lead than some current "allowables." your own body naturally contains lead. Stop worrying. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Some raise risk.: Phenoxy herbicides are often contaminated with dioxins like tcdd, which research suggests results in a small rise in cancer risk after exposure to these herbicides. Triazine exposure has been implicated in a likely relationship to increased risk of breast cancer, although it is unclear if it causes it. Exposure to herbicides, like paraquat and pesticides increases risk for parkinson's disease. ...Read more
Pollutants: All of the pesticides, fungicides and herbicides used on the growing tobacco leaves when they go throught the liver are turned into "estrogen-like" compounds resulting in over-estroginized men and women. They also contain heavy metals all of these can cause various forms of cancers. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
