Unusual: Unless your scalp is exposed to chemicals or solvents , it is not likely an irritant dermatitis. If your scalp itches, then it is more likely a contact allergy. I would consider changing shampoo (Free & Clear) and condition. A short course of topical cortisone scalp solution may help calm the scalp down to prevent you from scratching it.
