Constipation With Clear Stool But Still In Pain
Diverticulosis: You may have diverticulosis pouches which are a common cause of loose stools and passage of bright red blood. Colonoscopy.: it is not unusual to have some gassiness and to not yet have had a bowel movement on the second day after a colonoscopy. However, it is not normal to have any bleeding afterwards. If you are having bleeding, you should call the doctor who did your colonoscopy to discuss it. Good luck. ...Read more

Go see your doctor: Irritable bowel syndrome can be diarrhea-predominant, constipation-predominant or mixed. However, by definition, ibs should not have blood in stool. Mucus on stool: Mucus discharge occurs in up to 50% of patients with irritable bowel syndrome, with or without pain. Upper lower abdominal pain worse with bowl movement. Runny stools but wen have firm there are indents. Mucus and sometimes blood in stools.
May be significant: Abdomenal pain with runny stools in your age group could indicate inflammatory bowel disease(ibd). Blood in stools is always abnormal. You need a colonoscopy at the minimum and this could tell the tale. It may be something as simple as hemorrhoids, but with runny stools, especially if there is weight loss, is more indicative of ibd. See a good gastroenterologist or colo-rectal surgeon. ...Read more

Gastroenterologist: Your symptoms may be due to a thrombosed hemorrhoid or a rectal fissure. A rectal exam should be done. Have rectal pain on the left side which is usually preceded by constipation or diarrhea and am taking linzess but have dark green stools with diarrhea?
Have had diarrhea for a week. Cramping in my lower abdomen especially in the mornings. Lots of gas, some mucous but no blood and no fever.
Gastroenteritis?: My first thought, based on acuity and symptoms, would be acute gastroenteritis, perhaps viral or food-borne. However, this should only last 3-5 days, so if you're still sick certainly by 7 days we would need to entertain other possibilities: infectious colitis, inflammatory colitis, gallbladder, pancreas. ...Read more
