Those : Those are very concerning symptoms. It sounds like you have done a very good job in getting her in to specialists, but if she is still having vomiting, then that is very concerning. I agree with your concern and please take her back to her specialists immediately and share your concerns. Obstruction: You may have had a diagnosis of diverticulitis at 22 but if you have had recurrent attacks, you may now have developped an obstruction from narrowing that occurs with healing. This is likely benign and if ibd, not uc but crohns dz. No matter what, this needs to be evaluated and i would recommend quickly. It sounds like you are dealing with acid reflux disease; the blood in your stool can be due to hemorrhoids (external or internal) and/or a bleeding ulcer, and can be a sign of colon cancer. You will likely need a test of your upper and lower GI tract (endoscopy and colonoscopy). After a thorough history of your problem, and physical, diagnostic tests can be ordered. Try not to worry. Yes: I don't know what you mean by "one off vomiting, " but i've seen constipation severe enough to cause vomiting in a child. This is, however, a rare thing, and the constipation has to be both very, very severe and very long standing. If your child is having constipation and vomiting, it's more likely that these are two related symptoms and less likely that one is causing the other. ...Read more
