Strain vs Stone: Two most likely causes are a low back strain or a kidney stone (nephrolithiasis). Kidney stones usually cause a pulsating pain, radiating to groin with no position that relieves pain, may cause blood n urine. MANY TESTS/REASONS: Liver function studies are tests that measure the way the liver is working. Some measure the effectiveness of the liver cells themselves others measure the "excretion" of the enzymes and "end products" of metabolism. Back : Back pain may be caused by bone, disk, muscle, joint, ligament, nerve, spinal cord and other organ systems. Some people have severe back pain with minimal changes on MRI while other patients have severe changes on MRI without any back pain. Therefore there is poor correlation between MRI and pain. The steroids help reduce inflammation but do not usually make quick structural changes you would see on spine mri. So sorry : For approximately 7 to 10% of women who undergo the surgery you had for endometriosis, these women still have pain related to endometriosis despite having the surgery.
