Needs evaluation: An evaluation would need to be done. Do you know of any unusual activity or other possible cause? The muscles and nerves in the lower back/hip region are many and complicated. Need Workup: Best to see a pain specialist. Could be anything from trigger point phenomonem from overactive muscles to actual nerve root irritation. I would start with a good musculoskeletal/neurologic exam looking for trigger points or "knots" -treat them first and if no relief go to more selective "precision" pain management techniques like a selective nerve root injection.Probably also need a mri. ...Read more
