Concerta Drug Interactions
Is there a drug interaction between cipralex and ionix supreme from isagenix? Or with Ritalin or concerta?
Interactions Meds: Hi Xcabrera, I tried to check interactions for you however in US Cipralex is Lexapro or generic escitralopram. An antidepressant medication. Perhaps the spelling of Ionix supreme is different. Since most of our drug interaction data bases are for meds in the US I suggest you consult a local pharmacist in Canada. Great question Thanks Dr Lori Lange ...Read more
In order to differentiate hyperthyroidism symptoms from drug w/d sym from clonazepam and/or drug interaction side effects b/w clonazepam, prozac, (fluoxetine) and concerta, which should be ruled out 1st?
Dr. Donald, interaction between cymbalta (duloxetine) and ritalin, fda has reported on life threatening drug interactions? Http://tinyurl.Com/kkctn5n regards.
Cymbalta (duloxetine) and Ritalin: I checked your site and nothing came up. Please recheck spelling, so i went to the following site. Please realize that these are percentages based only on the total number of drug reactions reported to the fda. There are also concomitant medical conditions and other medications that are in use. www.ehealthme.com/drug-interactions/cymbalta-and-ritalin-la please get back to me on this. Since these are not proven interactions, they do not show up in the drug drug interaction literature per se.I have used this combination many times without difficulties. ...Read more

Whats the difference between concerta and ritalin (methylphenidate) and which drug is more powerful and effective ?
Does stamina-rx interfere with other drugs such as concerta? I take concerta 34mg for ADD and took it at 7:30 am but I was hoping to take this now
I wouldn't: There are a number of components in Stamina-Rx that may be unsafe, including yohimbe, a stimulant, which has been linked to irregular heart beat and even heart attack. In general, I would not use this supplement which, like all supplements, is not scrutinized for safety by the FDA. I would especially not take it with Concerta, also considered a stimulant. ...Read more
Careful decision: There is not a black & white answer to this question. A detailed history would need to be taken. There would have to be an appropriate indication for the medication & even then, potential for tolerance needs to be measured with anticipated benefits. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I've taken concerta 18 mg but it didn't work. I increased the dose 36 mg and still didn't work. Should i change the drug, if so what drug should I take?
See your doctor: Please see your doctor for evaluation and adjustment of your therapy. Doses may be increased weekly, ( max 72mg/day) but this must be done under the care of your doctor who can monitor for side effects. Please let your doctor know if you drink alcohol. There are other options , your doctor can help if you discuss your concerns. Take care. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Why do I get anxiety on concerta but feel calm&focused on ritalin (methylphenidate).Had dose equivalents worked out-so basically same amount. Aren't they the same drug?
Can I drink alcohol on 72mg of concerta. I take it in the morning around 8:30am. Is it safe to drink around 6pm, as the drug has worn off by then?
Depends: The safety of your drinking can be considered separately from the Concerta use. The drug is essentially gone so there will not be any interaction. However, safety of consumption depends on several factors: local law (you are not legal in many states at 19),situation (driving or not),amount consumed. If these are not a problem, ignore the med and do what you want. ...Read more
My son, 8, has moderate ADHD an has tried several drugs for it including folacin, concerta, and now vyvance with not much luck, any input on daytrana?
Agree with Dr. Maes: Evaluation by a developmental/behavioral pediatrician, child psychiatrist or child neurologist may reveal co-existing medical/neurodevelopmental issues that prevented an optimal response. A child psychologist can both test ; provide therapy. If doses of stimulants were titrated up for maximum effect, one of them may work with an adjunct non-stimulant like intuniv, if adhd is the diagnosis. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
.1mg of Clonidine, 36mg of Concerta & 150mg of Trileptal. Wouldn't Clonidine & Concerta have an interaction? A stim w/ a BP medication seems harmful.
My son 9yo has been on cipramil 15mg for almost 3 years. He has adhd. On concerta too. Im concerned that the former drug is masking his true emotions.?
Perhaps - Need Info: It's always worthwhile to evaluate the current benefit and ongoing need for any treatment. The current need to the use of cipramil would depend on how things are going for your son, and the reasons for why it was started in the first place. Cipramil can occasionally cause a flattening of mood - please discuss with this with your physiciain if you have concerns that this may be occurring. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

My dad diagnosed with ADHD without taking me to a doctor who specializes in this. I take concerta but this drug keeps giving me the negative affects.
Several thoughts: Most ADHD cases in this country are managed by primary care physicians. Some that fail to respond to treatment or have other co-existing problems are referred to specialists for care.I assume from your statement your dad is a doc and qualified to provide both diagnosis and write for the controlled drugs used. If you would like a 2nd opinion, man up and tell him. ...Read more
I was prescribed Prozac 40 mg, Ritalin 10 mg, Concerta 108 mg, Remeron 30 mg and Risperdal 3 mg. Is this number of drugs safe?
Depends...: on what you and your doctor decide together. There are theoretically some interactions among the drugs you've listed, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you will experience them. It's difficult to know all of the possible interactions when you have this many medications in combination. Some of the drugs' metabolism could be affected or you may have increased risk of side effects. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Homiopathic or natural remedies for add/adhd
please help me keep my son off drugs I am looking for some good homiopathic or natual solutions for ADHD in a 6 year old, otherwise healthy child.
I am stronly against any perscribed meds ie; ritalin, concerta
There are resources: Although I do not share your fear of stimulants, there are other approaches. Start with "addressing add naturally" by dr. Kathi kemper. At age 6, he might do well with a good behavior program. Check out the chadd.Org website for books about such treatments. "natural" remedies are unstudied and usually either ineffective or use high doses of caffeine; natural does not equal safe. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
