Not that complex!: A cyst at a size of 1.2cm is not that big and probably represents a normal finding. The description of a septation (or a wall in a cyst) is a 'complex' finding, but is probably of low concern. You need a followup scan in about 6 weeks. Any growth in 10 mon: It depends on the size. If it has not grown in size since first discovered, then it is ok to wait and see. But if it has grown and the size is over 6cm(>2 inches, then it may be best to get it removed. ...Read more

Doc's right: Not sure what "complex" means here but septated cysts without associated mass are overwhelmingly benign. Rarely, larger cysts can twist the blood supply to the ovary and cause pain so be aware that if you develop acute "severe" pelvic pain on the side of cyst you should have a repeat ultrasound. Usually: No intervention needed unless symptomatic. If problems occur. Rest and elevate leg. If you continue to have issues see an orthopedic doctor for eval. May drain it to help with the pain. Possibly inject the area with Cortisone Only in severe cases does it need to be removed. ...Read more
