The decision to proceed with surgery will require an in depth review by your doctor ...Read more

Talk to doctor: Many women will develop cysts in their life. The vast majority are benign, but some do develop into cancer. Having a ca 125 that low is a good sign, but no one can tell until the cyst is examined by a pathologist after surgery. After surgery, your doctor will be able to give you more detailed answers. ...Read more

Had a complex ovarian cyst rmvd from my left ovary yr ago & just found out i've a simple cyst on the same ovary. Will it prevent me from ovulating?

Probably not.: A simple cyst is usually benign and will go away on its own. In fact when you ovulate, the egg is released from a cyst and then the cyst resolves. Cysts do not usually interfere with ovulation. Depending on the size and symptoms of this cyst, your doctor may want to repeat your ultrasound in 6 weeks to insure it has resolved or is not getting bigger or complex appearing. ...Read more

Probably not: Unlikely you will need surgery. You are still young enough it's not unusual for periods to be irregular. Most likely you will be asked to have a follow up ultrasound in a couple of cycles. You may also be offered the birth control pill to regulate your cycles if you have no health problems precluding this. Be sure to follow up with your GYN. Good luck! ...Read more
