Does a persons blood pressure rise when i with a common cold ?, have to wear 24 hour machine,suspected hypertension. Will readings be affected if ill?
Depends: Depends on what or if you are taking OTC cold meds that contain phenylephrine or pseudoephedrine which can increase your BP. If you are in pain as in having a bad headache or severe sore throat with your cold this could also theoretically increase your BP. Hypertension: You can try low salt diet and exercise, along with meditation and yoga but if you have more than a borderline hypertension, you're better off doing those and consulting and doctor for medication.
