I had a colonoscopy a couple days ago, could I get kidney damage from drinking the prep? I have horrible lower back pain.
Pain : Kidney damage is not common after c-scopy prep. In patients with advanced kidney disease, pre-existing , a certain prep can cause some issues. Your lower back pain in unusual and you should contact the GI doc. Pain from the kidney is unusual for what you had done. You should seek care. I have been on clear liquid diet all day and started colonoscopy prep 4.5 hours ago. I have drank 2 liters of movi-prep without a BM. What should I do?
Continue prep: Continue the prep as prescribed. If you have not had good BMs prior to time for the procedure, let the doctor who is going to do the procedure know. Unfortunately yes : Don't drink it too fast-there is no rush.Some people spread it over an hour.Try drinking through a straw so you can't smell it.See if your doctor will let you mix it with apple juice or sprite. Finally, put a wet wash cloth on your neck and sit in a recliner with your feet up.I found that the prep for the colonoscopy was way worse than the procedure itself. Bless your heart! ...Read more
I've been doing a colonoscopy prep and am now only passing greenish liquid, however it feels like there might be something solid left. Is this common? Last three trips to toilet were all liquid.
