A colon that contains literally hundreds of polyps (nodules) suggests a genetic syndrome - the problem being that any of these polyps could potentially be precancerous. Reactive changes: The terminal ileum contains lymphoid aggregates / nodules as part of its normal makeup. When this part of the body reacts to something foreign, infectious or inflammatory, it reacts by making these lymphoid aggregates / nodules enlarge and show reactive features. I have had 2 cat scans and have multiple lung nodules with no changes in the last 6 months. Mammogram and colonoscopy are good. I am a 37 yr f.

R u smoker?: The absolute diagnosis of pulmonary nodules is done by a pathologist under microscopic examination. Otherwise speculative. Cat scan or pet scans are not microscopic examinations by a pathologist. If nodules become calcified most likely grannulomas. Carcinomas and grannulomas look alike early on. Close periodic f/u versus early excissional bx advised. Needle bx not DX unless cancer diagnosed. ...Read more

Which R & L lobes?: Please clarify, when you say "lobe" whether you mean of the lung, the liver, or what structure (it certainly makes a difference in the answer we can offer). Also, what are your risk factors regarding travel, for infection, medications taken, occupational exposures, and past medical history?
