Yes: The hard candies will dissolve into soft or liquid form before they reach your bowel. While they are not quite clear, they are close enough. And the volume they would produce would be very small. I probably would not do more than 5 or 6 of them, though; maybe 10 at the most. None on day of procedure. Clearer/lighter hard candy would be better. Keep up the water!! Good luck! ...Read more

Follow your MD's: instructions , may not hurt bit if bowel is not prepped well procedure will be cancelled and you have to repeat. Best thing speak to your doctor . ...Read more

No: If you have urgency and diarrhea, you might have an infection. It is not normal to have diarrhea or an urgency to push. You don't need another colonoscopy you need a stool test to make sure you don't have an infection. They should look for bacteria and parasites. ...Read more

Colonoscopy problem?: Air used to inflate your colon may persist for several hours--not typically for 5 days. Your post-procedure symptoms may be due to colonoscopy-related factors: colonic or organ mechanical trauma, post-polypectomy syndrome, abdominal wall bruising from external pressure, etc.; diverticular disease; extra-intestinal problems; ibs; lots more. Anatomy : sometimes if's super easy to get through the ileocecal valve and sometimes harder, especially in thin women. he probably used the forceps to pull himself in - absolutely nothing to worry about. ...Read more

Is Crohn's disease hard to diagnose? Colonoscopy EGD are norm beside minor inflamed cecum and ileum. Dr wants to do capsule test. So many tests!

Is Crohn's disease hard to diagnose? Colonoscopy EGD are norm beside minor inflamed cecum and ileum. Dr wants to do capsule test. So many tests!

Some times it can be: Most crohns affect the terminal ileum as well as the cecum. However as crohns can affect any part of the gi tract, a capsule endoscopy is helpful to find other lesions. My preference is to do a ct or MRI enterography, especially in an untreated crohns patient who I suspect may have tight areas (strictures). Hope this helps! ...Read more
