I had a clean colonoscopy at age 45. No polyps etc. Just turned 50 and wondering if I should do it now, or is it ok to wait. Thanks in advance, ?

Maybe: First question is do you have any symptoms to suggest colon disease. Change in bowel habits, rectal bleeding, unexplained weight loss most commonly. If not, next question is family history. Any one in your first degree family have colon cancer or polyps? If yes then have one at 5 years, if no then recommendations are to wait 10 years, again, if no symptoms. ...Read more

Probably: but you do need to know the kinds of polyps they were. if hyperplastic and all at the very end - that's the only time I wouldn't necessarily repeat it. but if adenomas, and 4 - your next one should be in 3 years (unless they were quite big in which case even sooner). ...Read more

At age 33, had 3polyps (1 was tubular adenoma) removed during colonoscopy. At age 38, had another 2 benign polpys removed.. How common is this in 30s?
