Hernia w/sever pain by umbilical repair w/mesh. Also just hospitalized for unknown intestinal bleeding. Colonoscopy in 6 days. Related to each other?

Postop complications: I cannot answer for sure as it depends on what they actually did during surgery. Potentially the two can be related as either due to postop complication (intestinal injury) or sometimes hernias could be due to Meckel's diverticulum (a pouch coming off the small intestine) that sometimes leads to intussusception and bleeding. Colonoscopy might help determine if there is a large bowel cause. ...Read more

More info: Many things can cause anemia. Losing blood or not producing blood. The scopes ruled out obvious causes. But the small intestine is not seen with those scopes. I had a diagnostic colonoscopy done due to bleeding and they found 2 ulcers in my intestines . Biopsies came back good what is the cause and treatment?

Other possibilities include crohn's disease, or many other possibilities, including infections. If this is NSAID induced, the treatment is avoidance of nsaids. If this is infection, it will resolve. But if it's crohn's, you need specific medical therapy. ...Read more

Had a colonoscopy d/t rectal bleeding dr said bleeding was from BP meds I take at night I had ulcers on the descending colon .whats the solution?

I disagree: I am unaware of any BP med that would cause colonic ulceration. You CAN see that with non-steroidals like ASA, motrin etc. Were the ulcers biopsied? That can be a sign of Crohns disease. Where were the ulcers? if very low in the rectum can be from chronic constipation. How old are you? ...Read more
