Colon Hydrotherapy Before And After
How long to wait for safe colonoscopy after colon resection? Polyp in rectum, blood in stool, no stoma.
Will taking domperidone before my sigmoidoscopy be okay? Worried ^ gastric emptying will push stool into the sigmoid colon quicker (after enema)
How many days before a colonoscopy should i stop drinking alcohol? Should i stop just during the bowel prep and the day of the procedure?
Agree with below: not a question that most social-only drinkers would ask. Daily alcohol consumption can make sedating you more difficult as your liver is revved up. Would try to stay away for at least 5-7 days if you're drinking more than 2drinks/day or 14/week. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
After hemorrhoid surgery approximately how long before bowel movements return to normal and what is the best diet for after surgery?
One of the major: determinants is whether you have general anesthesia or not (anesthetics paralyze bowel) and how many narcotic pain killers you take afterward. Many doctors advise starting stool softeners/fiber supplements before surgery. Stay super well-hydrated. Prune or apple juice may be helpful; raw veggies, while good for fiber, may be painful to pass. Two weeks, 3 at outside, and all should be good:) ...Read more

How long before i feel better after anal fissurectomy and anal dilatation? Currently on week 3 and prolonged sitting (>2hrs) is still painful.
Should not: Be having pain at this point at least not severe pain. I don't utillize anal dilation for a fissure as often severe damage to the sphincter can occur. I usually perform partial sphincterotomy and fissurectomy and at 2 weeks my patient are off all pain meds and back at work. Sound like you need to be seen by your surgeon promptly to rule out an infection. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can colon resection(~25cm)lead after few days to complications(e.G.Arteriosclerosis) and eventually to total colectomy within 10days?Is that frequent?
Deoends: I do not have enough information. Why was the first colon surgery - cancer? Colon surgery does not cause arteriosclerosis but diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity ; elevated cholesterol can. Surgery risks are increased with increased age, diabetes, high bp... If there was already vascular disease before the first surgery, bleeding, anemia, bowel obstruction, emergency surgery...= increased risks. ...Read more

Had lower colon resection and still have pain when "going" after 8 months. Fiber has helped to "soften" stool and the pain. Pain ok after 8 months?!
Possibly: If the pain is chronic in nature - no new changes in past few days - and you do not have fever or decreased bowel movements acutely over past few days, this is probably a chronic issue you need to discuss with your family doc or surgeon. If there has been a recent increase in pain or decrease in bowel movements accompanied by nausea/vomiting, you need emergent medical evaluation. ...Read more
Don't waste your $: Healthtap physicians have repeatedly addressed this subject with a clear "no" answer to colonics. There is virtually no value to colon flushes, cleansers, enemas, irrigation machines when the technique is accomplished to "detox" or eliminate "accumulated waste." the "no" response also applies to liver detoxes! there are few real health benefits, but sigificant unjustified risk. Don't "cleanse". ...Read more
