Schedule changes: May try getting up 15 minutes earlier, exercising, and then having a warm breakfast and then time to go to the bathroom for bowel function. This is retraining your bowel and may help. This may take a few days to help, but please be patient. Cut back on dairy products, as this can cause constipation. Add exercise also.: Atonic colon can be due to the absence of myenteric plexus or overuse of laxatives. If your colonoscopy and ct scan were normal, increased water intake, exercise and a high fiber diet will help. You had used lactulose, fruits, prunes, fiber, now add daily exercise, lots of water and stool softeners. I suppose you already see a gastroenterologist.
