Im only 22 years old with no colon cancer symptoms except lack of appetite is that really a specific symptom of colon cancer?

No: Lack of appetite is not a usual symptom of colon cancer. Unless you have strong family history of colon cancer occurring at a young age, you are too young to worry about it.

Sometimes I have to poop 2-3 times in one day but sometimes I won't go for 2 days I also get strong urge to go are the colon cancer symptoms I'm 20?

No.: Unless a LOT of people in your family have colon cancer below age 50. There are genetic diseases that give colon cancer at a young age. If you dont have that in your family and you would know, then colon cancer is exceedingly rare below age 50. Irritable bowel however is quite common.

If I have stomach aches or similar to indigestion or colon cancer symptoms, how can I tell?

16 year old worried about colon cancer ! symptoms, abdominal pain for a week , on/off constipation for 5 months, blood in stool 2x in past 2 months?

Thanks for asking: I am glad that you are concerned about your health at this age. You are having some things that suggest your GI system is not acting quite right. Pain, changes in stool and blood can be signs of colon cancer, but that is very rare at your age. Other conditions like inflammatory bowel disease (crohn's) are more common, but less serious most likely. Family history critical too. Since blood, be seen.

I don't know why im so fearful of colon cancer at my age of 22 I have a poor appetite but no other symptoms like weight loss or fever how common is the cancer in a 22 year old? Is lack of appetite a symptom of colon cancer?

Unusual: I had answered with the data on colon cancer to your question. From age 20-30 the percentage of people with colon cancer is a little over 1 %. Remember that most people of any age do not get colon cancer. At your age this is very low on the list of causes. Anxiety, thyroid disease, stress, bad diet are all much more likely. See your doc so that you can stop worrying and live life happily.

Generally, risks of colon cancer are higher after age 50. A cleveland clinic site states that less than 2% of colon cancer occurs under age 40. Are there symptoms that would indicate that someone may have colon cancer? Are there symptoms that would indicate that someone may have colon cancer?

Are there symptoms that would indicate that someone may have colon cancer? Are there symptoms that would indicate that someone may have colon cancer?

Thanks : Thanks for your question. Usually by the time someone experiences symptoms from colon cancer, the cancer is fairly large or has spread. This is because colon cancers typically start out as small polyps (a small "stalk" of tissue jutting out from the colon wall inside the colon) that grows larger and changes into a cancer. This doesn't really cause pain or block the passage of stool unless it has grown so large that the stool can't get around it. Symptoms someone might feel who has a colon cancer include abdominal pain, constipation, blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss, fever, night sweats, and fatigue. In the United States, screening for colon cancer is recommended for every adult over the age of 50, and sometimes earlier for patients with a family history of colon cancer or other risk factors. Screening early is important to try to detect and remove polyps before they have the chance to transform into a cancer. A colonoscopy (a scope passed into your anus and through the colon) is one way to screen for colon cancer / colon polyps. I hope this answers your question. Thanks!
