No!: But it's not a good idea! when your body sends you the signal that is time to move her bowels, you should listen. It's really pretty smart. Obviously, one cannot always get to a bathroom when we get that signal. But if you do, go move your bowels. Should be checked: Thin stools can be a sign of rectal, not colon cancer. "Pencil" stools are caused by the cancer in the distal rectum or anus causing a severe narrowing which allows only a thin stool to pass. May be normal: The reservoir of the large bowel is transverse colon and not rectum. One may not be fully emptying that site if having normal BM.
