However, this also may have happened independent of the mva. ...Read more

Can a thoracic Syrinx be caused by an auto accident or would it be a pre-existing condition. IE accident occurred on 9/25 and then on 10/07.
Syrinx: If I am understanding your question correctly, it sounds as if you had the car accident on 9/25 and then developed symptoms on 10/7. This appears to be a rapid progression and seems unlikely that the accident caused the syrinx but it is a possibility. Another possibility would be that the syrinx was present prior to the accident and became symptomatic after the trauma. ...Read more

I've heard brain injuries caused by bleeds are perememt and mine was caused by a bleed is mine going to be perememt?
Not necessarily: When there is brain bleeding, certain part of the brain is permanently lost. The surrounding brain can be affected by swelling, which causes temporary brain dysfunction. My daughters, ages 2&4 were in a serious car accident 10 months ago and don't seem to have any physical injury. Any symptoms we should be looking for?
Car Accident: I'm so sorry about the accident. I'm sure that was a very scary time for all of you. However, as long as everyone was checked out and given a clean bill of health, there is no reason to be concerned about any long term physical/medical issues. You should still be alert to any potential lingering psychological or behavioral problems and address them if they are a concern. ...Read more
Not a good idea: When you say you are swallowing weed smoke, I assume you mean that you are gulping air which contains that smoke. Is it true that you don't get resuscitated if your in an accident if your on the organ donation list?
Completely false: People are cared for - resuscitated - to the fullest extent possible, in all circumstances. It is only once brain death has been declared, or once a decision was made to withdraw artificial support, that organ donation will be raised as a consideration. Though rumors abound, they are untrue. I am personally a part of "the system" and have sufficient confidence in it to be an organ donor myself. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
How can try to potty train my child (at 5yo) who's having accidents and just doesn't want to go on his own?
Assist/ Reward: One drag on toilet training is the mixed messages a kid gets if you follow him around asking if he needs to go. If he doesn't, he is sad he can't produce, if he needs to go & you are not there asking, he may not be able to hold it until you do.(again sad). If you tell him you will help, he picks the time (which is crucial)& you assist.(no sadness).A reward system helps motivate & can work overnight. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I'm going through memory loss and i don't know why. I haven't been in any accidents either. What's going on?
Many things: Memory is a very complex process and as such, any unusual changes in ones memory can be due to complex reasons. Accidents can be one. Depression is often over-looked as a cause of poor memory recollection. There are special cognitive tests that can quantify memory loss-into 'long-term" or "short term" or even the ability to create new memories. Other organic causes(disease) should be ruled out. ...Read more
