Is there any good evidence for taking nutritonal supplements of collagen hydrolysate for joint pain ?
Not great evidence: There is only moderate evidence by our academy that recommends 1500mg glucosamine with 1200mg chondroitin taken twice daily that may help with joint pain. I would take it for one month to see if you feel it is efficacious. If you feel it's helping, keep taking it. If you feel it doesn't help you, stop taking it because its just a waste of your money. I'm 29 years &was thinking of trying Neocell Super Collagen+C Type 1&3, should I stick to the prescribed dosage of 6 pills (3 morning,3 afternoon)?
Hmmm....: The question is why does a person take a supplement of ground up fish, pig, cow, or chicken collagen, when she can just eat those animals as food. Is there a deficiency or disorder in her body that requires buying and taking such collagen? And, if so, how does she know the item she is buying actually does any good, and is without harm.
