According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
What do these results mean... Urine Culture, Routine (LC) ... Mixed Urogenital Flora 10,000-25,000 colony forming units per ML?
Urine Culture: You have "normal" bacteria which are not though to cause a disease (like a UTI) that grew from the culture. We have bacteria all over our body including the urological and genital areas that normally grow there. If you disagree and feel like you have a UTI, you can get the test repeated or look for other causes. ...Read more

If symptoms don't improve revaluation with repeat urinalysis and culture as well as an imaging study may be needed to evaluate your kidneys. ...Read more
Diagnosed w/ uti. Urine showed wbc=35000, positive protein, culture= <10 x 10*6 cfu/l skin flora. Does that mean no bacteria? Is it something else?
Skin flora: Skin flora are bacteria that are normally found living on our skin. When present in a urine culture, it typically means that the specimen was contaminated (e.g., the urine touched something before it got into the sterile specimen cup). I would recommend a repeat culture, using a catheterized specimen if possible. ...Read more
Did urine test..Urine is acidic plus eusinophils positive..And pus cells 15-20..Is it uti? Treatement?
Pyuria: Urine is typically acidic, so don't be alarmed by that result. The 15-20 white blood cells in a urinalysis demonstrates a pyuria - this may be a uti, but it depends on the other symptoms and clinical context that your doctor will figure out. Eosinophils oh the urine is unusual and may suggest an allergy or rarer types of infection (parasite, fungal, tb). ...Read more

8,000 CFU/ML GR. B BETA HEMOLYTIC STREP
<10,000 CFU/ML MIXED UROGENITAL FLORA
Doc did not give abx for this. What does it mean?
No infection.: Strep often colonlizes the genital tract without causing infection; it doesn't require treatment when found in the urine or on a genital swab unless you're pregnant. Mixed flora means the urine sample you gave was contaminated with bacteria from your genital skin/hair and doesn't indicate infection. If you are having painful urination, frequency, or urgency, get re-tested. ...Read more

No uti : These are the multiple natural and normal baceria that are present on the skin that show up in the urine culture in the absence of a single organism. A high count of a single organism indicates infection whereas a small amount of multiple organisms does not. Great! She does not have a uti! Thanks for trusting in Healthtap! ...Read more
