No: Mesalamine is known to cause aphthous stomatitis. In chohn's disease it is not unusual to see lesions in the mouth and along the entire digestive tract. Typically the treatment for these lesions are reactive and pallative consisting of topical treatments including 5% 5-aminosalicylic acid cream and other agents as well as laser therapy.
