But not wet?: If you have the sensation of cold wetness without actually being cold / wet then it could indicate an abnormality with a nerve coming from the spine or a superficial sensory nerve. Compression: Since your symptoms are related to a position (lying down, sleeping) it is probably a compression neuropathy. This is probably due to the Sciatic nerve (it runs from your gluets down the back of your legs) being pinched while you were laying down. People typically refer to their foot or leg "falling asleep". Cold leg: Its difficult to say since you did not share any medical information with us, not even your age. Cold and painful extremities are often suggestive of a vascular compromise. You need a vascular ultrasound study to see if you have obstruction of blood flow.
